Chris comes to Dewey Beach Fit with a winding road of coaching and training experience. He spends just about all of his time working as a CrossFit coach and personal trainer for the Balance Gym family in Washington DC. And when he’s not working with classes and clients to help them improve their health, fitness and performance, he’s training full-time to compete as a national level weight lifter and crossfitter.
Before moving down to DC, he previously worked at the United States Military Academy in West Point, NY as a strength and conditioning coach for the Army football, hockey and lacrosse teams. At the University of Delaware, where he acquired his Master’s in Exercise Science as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant, he discovered functional fitness as a means for staying in shape and competitive exercising as an outlet when his rugby career was cut short due to injury. During his time as a student at UD, he also was introduced to the happiest place on Earth, Dewey Beach.
He has competed as a division rugby player, CrossFit Games athlete and American Open qualified weight lifter. He now channels his passion for fitness and training into helping others through personal training and coaching group classes, specializing in bootcamps, sports performance and CrossFit classes. He lives for setting goals and smashing them, and finds even more excitement in helping others do the same. Chris looks forward to broadening his horizons even further to the unique and exciting opportunity to teach and coach classes for Dewey Beach Fit this summer and beyond! Life is all about balance, and paying your dues before you booze is a perfect example of that!
